In some time I will start my second fast of Ramzan and outside the streets are dark gloomy , just the lamp light and the barking dogs as I stay on a top floor I dont get to hear the Awakeners voice waking people as he exits out from a nearby slum and the dogs chasing him..

I am a huge fan of this Muslim man keeping his sairi for the end he wakes other people living in slums who tire out from lifes heavy burdens , the innumerable children, and without trying to be funny there are fathers daily wage workers who dont even know their children's name, they plough the field and God grants them fruits .. Sai bat hai Khuda ki Den Hai..

Now the barking has gone intense below , and I hate stray dogs they are nothing but a nuisance and dogs such as these should be put in a home like the old age home where they can be sterilized and people get some decent sleep and and no dog biting cases those that talk highly about dogs unfortunately wont even feed a poor beggar , kick my opinionated multiclored butt if I am wrong and I have seen hungry kids grab the biscuits from the dog , because the dog wants meat and he is fed biscuits .. after the human hating dog activist is gone...

And people feed crows birds to wash their sins including the sins of their forefather wont ever feed poor kids .. there are people who feed kids I have seen at Carter Road but they are like the fingers on your miserly hands..

Muslim kids hardly sleep once they come back from Tarabi they have their dinner play carom gully cricket the brainy kids play chess..and I am talking about the adjacent slums..

Blogging really destroyed me this is the flip side I must get it off my chest, earlier before I got hooked to the Internet I walked several rounds up and down at Carter Road..mind you I was a photographer but not an addicted picture shooting in the vein blogger ..

The Internet destroyed me further I got carried away by a dangerous polygamous mind saw myself falling in love on the net made me more sedentary..6 years as a blogger has been falling in love falling out of love all this made me a poet of doom I lost everything I began walking barefeet..

Sometimes I wonder had I taken the plunge the first time I fell in love on the Internet to an American Inuit Indian my life might have changed ..I would have not been as dead as an Indian I am now.. and imagine walking barefeet in Alaska for six months and back in India for the rains and the kids and the grand kids..yes blogging really did me in..

I just woke my wife up to go and get the sairi ready , I am the alarm clock of her life.. and it is time to stop my rant and get back to the serious business of Roza..

"There’s hidden sweetness in the stomach’s emptiness. If the brain and the belly are burning clean with fasting, every moment a new song comes out of the fire. The fog clears, and new energy makes you run up the steps in front of you. Be emptier and cry like reed instruments cry. Emptier, write secrets with the reed pen. When you’re full of food and drink, an ugly metal statue sits where your spirit should. When you fast, good habits gather like friends who want to help."

White-throated Kingfisher

White-throated Kingfisher

.The White-throated Kingfisher, Halcyon smyrnensis, also known as the White-breasted Kingfisher or Smyrna Kingfisher, is a tree kingfisher[2] which is widely distributed in Eurasia from Bulgaria,[3] Turkey, into south Asia and east to the Philippines. This kingfisher is essentially resident over much of its range, apart from seasonal movements.

The first English was suggested since the geographical name is too restrictive for this widespread bird, while its easternmost race lacks a white breast

This is a large kingfisher, 28 cm in length. The adult has a bright blue back, wings and tail. Its head, shoulders, flanks and lower belly are chestnut, and the throat and breast are white. The large bill and legs are bright red. The flight of the White-throated Kingfisher is rapid and direct, the short rounded wings whirring. In flight, large white patches are visible on the blue and black wings. Sexes are similar, but juveniles are a duller version of the adult.

There are four geographic races differing mainly in the plumage shades, but H. s. gularis of the Philippines has only the neck and throat white. Race fusca is found in Peninsular India and Sri Lanka and is slightly smaller, bluer and with a darker brown underside than the nominate race found in northwestern India. Race saturatior is found in the Andaman Islands and is larger with darker brown underparts. Race perpulchra (not always recognized) is found in northeastern India and is smaller than fusca with paler underparts.[4] Albinism has been noted on occasion.[5]

The call of this kingfisher is a chuckling chake-ake-ake-ake-ake. They are particularly noisy in the breeding season.

Local names include Baluchistan: Aspi chidok; Sindhi: Dalel; Hindi: Kilkila, Kourilla;Himachal Pradesh: Neela machhrala; Punjabi: Wadda machhera; Bengali: Sandabuk machhranga; Assamese: Masroka; Cachar: Dao natu gophu; Gujarati: Kalkaliyo, Safedchati kalkaliyo; Marathi: Khandya; Tamil: Vichuli; Telugu: Lakmuka, Buchegadu; Malayalam: Ponman; Kannada: Rajamatsi; Sinhalese: Pilihuduwa

It perches conspicuously on wires or other exposed perches within its territory, and is a frequent sight in south Asia. This species mainly hunts large crustaceans,[7] insects, earthworms,[8] rodents, snakes, fish and frogs.[9][10] The young are fed mostly on invertebrates.[11] It is reputed to eat tired migratory passerine birds like Chiffchaffs where the opportunity arises

The White-throated Kingfisher begins breeding at the onset of the Monsoons. In its courtship display it spreads out the wings with bill raised high to show the white patterns. The nest is a 50cm tunnel in an earth bank. A single clutch of 4-7 round white eggs is typical
